Gigantic Alligator Takes Leisurely Stroll Around Florida Golf Course

Golf professional Tyler Stolting was enjoying an afternoon at a course in Naples, Florida when an enormous alligator decided to join him.

Stolting was riding in a golf cart at the Valencia Golf and Country Club when he caught sight of the gigantic alligator strolling across the green. It was like a scene straight from Jurassic Park.

In the shocking video Stolting uploaded to Facebook, you can see the massive reptile slowly making his way towards the nearby water, dragging his thick tail along the ground with every step.

He wrote, “We’re at the part of 2020 where prehistoric monsters are coming back from extinction. Think we all needed this good laugh.”

Many people were shocked by the size of the alligator, with some even thinking it was fake!

“I initially thought this MUST be an animatronic! How wrong I was,” one person commented.

Another agreed, writing, “Nooo thats not real ????”

“See this is why I say not to Florida,” someone else commented.

Despite the shocking size, the alligator and video are “nothing unusual” according to expert David Steen, the reptile and amphibian research leader of the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

He shared a photo of the animal on Twitter, saying:

“Glad to see people interested in alligators because of this observation. I’ve gotten many tweets and journalist inquiries about it. It’s an iconic species and conservation success story. But in short, there’s nothing unusual or remarkable about the video or the alligator.” he wrote.

Back in 2015, a different large alligator was spotted on a golf course in Englewood, Florida.

According to the New York Daily News, the massive reptile had been observed walking through the course for several days.

Maybe Florida’s golf courses shouldn’t have such tempting ponds! What would you think if you spotted this massive alligator?
