WE MADE IT! After 4 years of hard work, sweat and tears we finally got the Live Wild Area (600’000sqm of pure african wilderness) approved by the government of South Africa! The first two lions Dexter and Snow have been released in it April 2023 and it was a huge success. Seeing them thriving and living a life wilder than anyone could have ever imagined for a captive bred lion is literally the biggest milestone in the history of the Hakuna Mipaka Oasis. Leo, Nayla, Kiara & Khaleesi are were eagerly waiting for their big day, in April 2024 we finally moved all of them successfully. All of this required a lot of preparation, financial commitments, and other resources, which is why the second movement didn’t occur before 2024. We plan to extend the 600’000 square meter Live Wild Reserve up to 2 million square meter.
